Mara’s Ice Cream Parlor, a family-owned shop in Rockaway Beach, recently rebranded and renovated to bring a fresh, yet old-school retro feel to their space. They wanted something clean, cozy, and kid-friendly that matched their new look. Originally, they asked for a menu painted directly on the wall, but since their ice cream flavors change seasonally, I suggested a more flexible idea. I landed on designing a collection of individual paintings for each menu item that could easily be swapped out. Together they create a fun gallery wall that doubles as a functional art piece.

To capture that classic, old-school vibe, I used a sign-painter style typeface and custom designed each menu illustration from start to finish. In total, I created 27 unique pieces that now bring character and a bit of nostalgia to the shop.
